Richard J. Maietta has over 25 years of experience in workers’ compensation law, representing injured workers in workers’ compensation and third party personal injury claims. Mr. Maietta serves as a judge pro tem and arbitrator before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB) and as a mediator and arbitrator for the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles. Mr. Maietta has also served as the past Chair and past Program Chair of the American Bar Association’s Workers Compensation and Employer’s Liability Law Committee.
As a testament to his standing in the legal community, Mr. Maietta has attained the highest possible peer review rating of “AV Preeminent” from Martindale-Hubbell, indicating preeminent legal ability and the highest standards of ethics. He is frequently called on to share his knowledge of workers’ compensation law issues, lecturing at continuing education programs for attorneys, and to law schools, insurance companies, and business organizations.
Mr. Maietta received his Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern Law School and his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Los Angeles. He was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1984 and is a member of the Workers’ Compensation Section of the State Bar of California, the Eastern Bar Association of Los Angeles County, and the American Bar Association.
